Sridhar Vembu, co-founder of the Chennai and US-based Zoho Corporation, has made a strategic investment in Yali Aerospace, a drone technology startup located in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India. Although the financial details of the investment remain undisclosed, this move signifies a substantial endorsement of Yali Aerospace’s innovative solutions in healthcare and surveillance.

Yali Aerospace was founded in 2022 by the couple Dinesh Baluraj who was working as Flight Operations & Training Manager at Avy, Amsterdam, Netherlands and Anugraha Ganesan currently leading as Product Design Engineer in this Medical and Organ Delivery Drone system. They had developed fixed-wing drones with vertical take-off and landing capabilities, specifically designed for delivering medical supplies and organs to remote hospitals. These drones can cover distances up to 150 km, carrying payloads of up to 7 kg at a maximum speed of 155 km/hr.

The couple returned from Netherlands to their Home Town in Thanjavur, India and established Yali Aerospace. Addressing the critical logistical challenges in Emergencies, especially in remote and underserved areas, the startup focuses on developing advanced drone technology. , inspired by the mythical creature Yali known for its strength and agility, reflects their aim to bring sharp and flexible technological solutions to pressing real-world problems.
